Hello,

My name is Martin, and I am a freelance language and history teacher who specializes in teaching Czech for foreigners online. In my classes I pay attention to a contextual teaching that stimulates you to communicate about relevant topics while simulating real situations. Besides that, I’ll provide you with valuable tips for living and working in Czechia and for visiting interesting places there. If you wish, I can also prepare you for official exams in Czech you are required to pass. While learning Czech, you will get information about Czech geography, culture and history.

The Czech language is not only a tool of communication and thinking in it. Czech will show you its beauty and richness, and it will shape your feeling Czech.

  • From 2006 – 2013, I was teaching German at the University of West Bohemia, since 2014 I have been teaching German, English and Czech for foreigners at various language schools and as a freelancer.
  • Since 2017 my main focus has been on teaching Czech for foreigners, explaining the complicated Czech grammar in English or German, which provides students with comfort and allows them a fast progress.

10 Reasons Why Me

I accent a personal approach and the individual needs of each student.

My teaching is always based on high quality materials (textbooks, motivating online materials or even your own sources, you have to deal with in real life).

I focus on contextual teaching and learning that reflects daily life or particular topics.

I pay sufficient attention to grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, explaining them in English or German and correct my students gently to give them a feedback they need to progress.

I am an experienced language & history teacher covering many cultural aspects and integrating them into the lessons.

By teaching you Czech I also show you the way Czech people think & act.

By learning Czech with me you will discover many tips and tricks for your everyday life in Czechia as well as its geography and its natural & architectural wonders for your bucket list.

I don’t forget that humour is the spice of life. The Czech one being slightly dark…

I’d love to pass my own love to Czech to you.

My schedule is flexible, my lessons are individual, and my prices are reasonable.

Testimonials

Basic A-level

I really want to appreciate and thank you for being such a great Czech language teacher. I learned the basic A-level from you, the way you were interacting with us, and mainly the word pronunciation teaching was outstanding. I want to thank you for being such an amazing person. Will strongly recommend you to my friends for the Czech language classes.

Lessons is fun

Martin Kobližek is the best language instructor that I’ve had so far. Most teachers would only go by the book, strictly following what’s written on published modules. Frankly, that is very boring. Martin, however, goes beyond that. He understands that language is not something that you just memorize in your head, rather he knows that it must also be learned by heart. And so he does this by regularly engaging his students, teaching the cultures that go hand in hand with the language, and overall, making lessons more fun. It’s not even a year that has passed since I started learning Czech from Martin and yet I am now able to communicate fairly on a day to day situation. I highly recommend taking Martin Koblížek as your language instructor. I guarantee that it will be one of the best decisions that you will ever make.

Excelent mentor

Martin is an excellent mentor who treats us well in our lessons. He always shares valuable knowledge and information; may it be historical facts or tips and tricks for learning Czech living in the country. He tends to challenge us so that we will be able to remember the lessons by heart. He is also open to new approach on our lessons; looking for new ways to engage us in our interests.
